Niobium-hafnium-titanium (Niobium C-103)
Niobium C-103 is a Niobium-Hafnium-Titanium alloy with 10% hafnium and 1% titanium, which has the best combination of formability and high-temperature properties.
Niobium C-103 is mainly used for rocket engine nozzle, space power systems (molten sodium and sodium-potassium alloy pressure tubes and turbine pumps), liquid metal heat exchangers and high temperature structural components in jet engines. It satisfies most rocket engine applications for temperatures up to 1482°C because of its superior mechanical properties, weight savings, and the improved welding and coating properties (due to the hafnium additive).
