Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al
This near beta alloy was developed primarily for high strength applications in the 1241 MPa (180ksi) UTS range, in order to provide weight savings over steels in air frame forging operations.
Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al is capable of a wide range of strengths depending on heat treatment applied. Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al alloy has excellent hardenability, high strength, and high fatigue strength. It is mainly used for landing gear (part of the main landing gear for take-off and landing). Its excellent forgeability of any commercial titanium alloy makes it to be used in near-net shape forging applications.
